On 02 and 11 February 2022, IFF and ONCF are organising the UIC Train Rail Hackathon – Africa Region competition under the theme “How can rail be resilient in the face of pandemics?
Initiated by the UIC’s TEDP platform, the main objective of this hackathon is to generate new innovative projects and ideas to face the pandemic in the railway sector by proposing products, applications or services in the form of prototypes.
41 participants of 6 different nationalities are taking part in this competition organised in Morocco in a face-to-face and online format.
The competitors are divided into 7 teams mixing professionals from the African railway sector and students from Moroccan engineering schools. They will present their projects on 19 February before an examination committee which will select 3 winners.
At the end of this stage, the best team will represent the African region in the world final at the UIC Congress on Railway Training (WCRT 2022) organised in May 2022 in Moscow.
