On Saturday 19 February 2022 the UIC – International union of railways TrainRail Hackathon competition for the African region took place at IFF.
7 teams representing 6 African countries took turns to present and defend their projects in front of a committee of experts chaired by Mr Smouni DGA/ONCF and composed of Mr S.Bennani Dir Adjt/EMI, M. Guedira Dir Adjt/ENSMR, M. Alaoui for UIR, Mrs FZ.Ouerkhaoui and F.Luciano for ONCF as well as K.Chennouf and C.Martin for IFF.
The competition was tough with highly motivated young candidates who prepared their projects well and made prototypes and 3D simulations under the supervision of 5 professional coaches.
3 teams distinguished themselves and were awarded by the members of the jury.
The first team will represent Africa in the finals in Moscow during the UIC World Congress on Railway Training (WCRT 2022) on 18 May.
