At the initiative of UIC, IFF officially launched the TrainRail Hackathon for the African region on October 21st.

In partnership with  ONCF Group and SNCF International, IFF brought together more than 50 African talents 🌍 to take part in this pre-event held both offline and online.

During the day, participants were able to initiate contacts and exchanges between their peers and the expert coaches.

In addition, a design thinking workshop 🛠️🎨 was organised for the participants to give them a better understanding of the principle and stages of design thinking 🧠 and to introduce them to research and group work.

Later in the day, 7 mixed teams (professionals and academics) were formed, representing 6 African countries. 🇲🇦 🇧🇫 🇹🇳 🇬🇦 🇸🇳 🇲🇷

For the following stages, each team will defend a topic related to the theme proposed by the UIC in front of a panel of experts. 🏅3 teams will be selected and rewarded by the members of the jury on November 24.

The winning team will proudly represent the African region alongside the other organising regions (Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Latin America) at the final of the UIC World Congress on Railway Training scheduled for 8 April 2025 in Chengdu, China.🇨🇳
