The IFF’s mission is to train ONCF and SNCF supervisors in the various railway trades, to support the implementation of the new High Speed ​​Line and to train its future operators. Its ambition is to provide training of excellence based on innovative and modern teaching methods and tools such as virtual reality software and simulators.

The training provided at the IFF is intended to be practical. Many educational models are also implemented and training is done as often as possible, using exercises and scenarios. These training courses are given exclusively at the IFF, whether for trainees from ONCF or SNCF. IFF also aims to share this requirement for excellence with all the players in the world of rail transport through the organization of events such as international conferences, like the one held in October 2015 which brought together more than 100 institutional, industrial and university decision-makers from a dozen European and African countries.
