From 3 to 7 June, IFF was honoured to receive a delegation from the Centre Régional de Formation pour l’Entretien Routier (CERFER). CERFER is an organisation made up of the five States of the Conseil de l’Entente (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger and Togo), whose purpose is to train agents capable of intervening in road infrastructure maintenance and equipment maintenance.

Led by its Director General, the delegation had the opportunity throughout the week to visit the different components of the Moroccan railway system and to discover the different rail professions within the IFF as well as through immersion in several sectors and ONCF sites.

Following this visit, the IFF and CERFER signed a memorandum of understanding in Rabat on Thursday 6 June, with the aim of strengthening their cooperative ties in the development of skills and railway expertise. The aim of the memorandum is to set up a rail vocational training programme for CERFER. The aim of this memorandum of understanding between CERFER andIFF is to set up a vocational training programme in the railway sector by providing technical assistance, exchanging experience and offering specific technical support for aspects of railway operation and maintenance.
